A recent post about X (formerly Twitter) published by an account called “Brics News” shared an image that allegedly showed a simulated nuclear attack on Israel, claiming it was released by Iran.
This claim is completely wrong. The account does not have an official affiliation with BRICS.

There is no indication that the image has been released or approved by an Iranian media outlet, government agency or partner source. In fact, reviews of Iran’s official communications and media platforms show no traces of the content in question.
This post appears to be part of a broader trend in disinformation campaigns to escalate tensions or to trigger responses in sensitive geopolitical climates.
The images themselves may be generated or manufactured by AI, but the false distribution to Iran reflects intentional efforts to manipulate the narrative on social media.
For now, neither the Iranian government nor the BRICS-affiliated institutions have recognized or taken responsibility for this image, and its origins remain unconfirmed.
