The IAEA chief told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Iran does not appear to be actively enriching uranium, but new activity at the country’s nuclear facilities has been recently observed.
He claimed that despite not having access to Iran’s nuclear facilities, inspectors have not seen any activity via satellite that would indicate that the Islamic Republic of Iran has accelerated production of enriched uranium beyond the amount extracted before the 12-day US-Israeli forced war in June.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked invasion of Iran, sparking a 12-day war that left at least 1,064 people dead in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
The United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities in a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic locations throughout the occupied territories, as well as Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military base in West Asia.
On June 24, Iran successfully thwarted a terrorist attack through successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council halted cooperation with the IAEA in protest after the E3 – Britain, France and Germany – triggered a “snapback” mechanism supposedly built into the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Tehran, China and Russia view the E3 move as unfair and have vowed not to comply with it.
