Senior Iranian political officials told news television that Iran would not hold new negotiations with the US under its previous framework or agenda.
Officials who requested anonymity stressed on Thursday that negotiations must match local security realities.
“For now, I believe the purpose of the negotiations is to disarm Iran and make up for Israel’s weakness in the next war,” the official said.
“Our intelligence shows that Washington is seeking consultations seeking preparation for war rather than peace. If so, we have no reason to waste our time.
Officials added that the new round of negotiations should include “serious and practical guarantees” to ensure that the process is not covered by security consensus.
It outlined the key conditions for formal consultations, including serious attention to Israeli nuclear programs and weapons of mass destruction.
“No one in this region accepts disarmament in this region, but such a bloodthirsty regime will become more armed every day.”
Officials said Israel’s reliable punishment and compensation for Iran are other conditions of negotiations. Otherwise, negotiations will once again become a prelude to the war.
“This is a problem for the US and I don’t know how they are going to resolve it,” the official added.
Tehran and Washington engaged in negotiations led by Iranian Foreign President Abbas Aragut and President Donald Trump’s foreigner Steve Witkov, who held five rounds of indirect talks through Oman when Israel launched a series of unattacked attacks.
“Whitkoff must ensure that he is not a fireman in the war, but a mediator of the solution. It is very difficult to provide such a guarantee, but we are ready to give another chance and hear that the US is watching actual actions on the issue,” an Iranian official said Thursday.
