“In our interactions with the United Nations nuclear watchdog, we have nothing to do with bombed nuclear facilities. We only cooperate with the IAEA on nuclear facilities that were not bombed within the framework of IAEA regulations,” Araghchi added.
Earlier, IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi said IAEA inspectors had returned to Iran and conducted inspections at facilities that were not affected by the June attacks.
“Our inspectors have returned to Iran and are conducting inspections at facilities not affected by the June attacks, but further engagement is needed to restore full inspections. “At the board meeting, I reported on our continued efforts to maintain nuclear safety, security, and safeguards and strengthen the benefits of nuclear science and technology around the world,” Grossi said in a post on his X account.
The IAEA chief also stated in his opening remarks at the board meeting, “We are not asking anyone to draft a resolution.”
Grossi said Iran and the IAEA “need to focus on the work that should be done under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and safeguards agreements.”
