During a press conference with three political and media activists on Thursday, President Pezeschkian addressed concerns about national unity and potential revitalization of snapback mechanisms. He also criticized certain European countries that violated international law for accusing Iran of non-compliance, and questioned how such claims could be taken seriously.
“Of course I don’t want to activate the snapback,” Pezeschkian said. The president has expressed concern about certain voices that undermine the unity and unity of the country. He emphasized that his main fear stems from internal disagreements and conflicts over minor issues rather than external threats, and noting that the enemy is exploiting these divisions.
The president noted that conflicts often arise when certain groups monopolize power and leave others alienated. In this environment, it becomes easier for the enemy to shift their responsibility to Iran due to various issues.
Pezeschkian advocated the need for the need for the principles of justice, integrity, humanity and equity to be realized in society, saying that true strength lies not in military power but in internal unity. He pointed out that even without high levels of military capabilities, even if we embody these values, no one would dare to long for our land and resources.
Regarding the internal critics of the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), who has expressed concern about the current situation, President Peshshkian said, “The theory that theories that claim that sanctions are insignificant are not consistent with reality, the issue we are currently facing is the Prime Minister’s claim. These sanctions are part of those who argue that they acknowledge that sanctions are even more deadly than they are imposed, and that those in important circumstances will not be taken.
Regarding the Islamic Republic’s stance on conflict, he asserted that Iran does not seek war, but would stand firm in any attack. We have never been away from conflict and our people have shown that in the age of war, internal unity will be greatly strengthened, he added.
Additionally, the president outlined his administration’s commitment to combat corruption and increasing transparency. He said the dedicated group is currently working on four key areas to ensure accountability in financial transactions.
In response to questions about the law regarding the hijab, he made clear that true chastity is different from appearance, and emphasized that social change should be approached with thoughtful and respect in order to avoid discord.
