Speaking at a ceremony commemorating National Students’ Day and the 45th anniversary of Imam Khomeini (RA) Nausha Maritime University, the Iranian admiral noted that the status of the navy has changed from an operational force to a strategic force, that is, an important and decisive force.
“The great successes of recent years, from the presence of the 86th Naval Fleet at sea to other international accomplishments, are the result of educating the young people who currently sit in the nation’s university chairs and who will carry the burden of the Navy’s future,” he said.
He added: “The current situation is the result of 45 years of hard work by the loyal, knowledgeable and dedicated forces of the Army and Navy.”
Referring to the recently opened Kordestan floating base in the country’s waters, the Army and Navy commander said, “The mission of this highly capable strategic base is to support the country’s combat forces.”
The Iranian admiral noted that the Sahand destroyer had returned to the country’s waters, adding: “The Sahand destroyer is a multipurpose combat ship with upgraded equipment in various fields.”
He praised the strategic equipment of the country’s navy and stressed that “enemies would do well to think twice before attacking Iran.”
