The death penalty sentence for agents of the ISIL terrorist group took place this morning on August 6, 2025, after completion of legal proceedings and approval by the Supreme Court.
Medi Asgarzadeh, son of Abdul Karim, a member of the Takfiri terrorist group ISIL, who received military training in Syria and Iraq and intended to carry out terrorist operations within Iran, was hanged after his sentence was finalized in the Supreme Court.
The prisoners, known for their alias “Abu Khaled” and “Hesham,” joined a group of Takfiri terrorists and traveled to Syria where they received ideological and military training at the ISIL camp.
During Syria, he was active in the combat zone and was injured in one of the clashes.
After his injuries, Abu Khaled was moved to ISIL base in Iraq. He later entered Iran with a team of five through the Western Highlands, intended to recruit and implement sabotage and terrorist operations.
The group has completed comprehensive training in Iraq on how to carry out terrorist acts in urban areas.
