TEHRAN – Mohammad Ahmadi, CEO of Iran’s national postal company Mohammad Ahmadi, has explored cooperation to strengthen collaboration at separate meetings between 28th Universal Post Chairman Tariq Ahmed Al Wahedi and the Secretary-General of India’s Asia-Pacific Postal Union.
Authorities met on the sidelines of the 28th Universal Post Parliament held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from September 8th to 19th.
At a meeting with Al Wahedi, also CEO of 7X, the UAE-based investment and holding group, the Holding Group, focusing on trade, transportation and logistics, highlighted the importance of Iranian officials expanding postal ties between the two countries.
Emphasizing the country’s progress in the Post and its modern technology-based services, Ahmadi praised Iran’s preparation for expanding relations with other countries, including Dubai, in particular in e-commerce.
He said Payam’s economic zone and international airports are ready to provide logistics and postal services, referring to the country’s logistics capabilities. Ahmadi added that using the shemale line capacity, the cargo can be transported to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On his part, Alwahedi welcomed the idea of increasing interaction and expressed optimism about signing a memorandum of understanding in the near future. He also announced the willingness for the UAE to use economic and commercial teams to expand its joint efforts with Iranian postal companies.
Officials also extended the formal invitation for Ahmadi to follow up on the talk.
Ahmadi held a meeting with Mahjong Oswald, deputy director of the Universal Postal Union. During the meeting, he introduced/presented the Geocoded National Address File (G-NAF) as one of the Iranian Postal Company’s most strategic projects, saying the services offered by this infrastructure have the capacity for postal companies to implement at a global level. Additionally, officials have expressed their willingness to benefit from the universal postal coalition partnership and consultation.
Oswald said the Universal Postal Coalition’s Technology Centre is ready to provide advisory services in the field of information technology, and is proposing that Iran will leverage the capabilities of the coalition’s advisory committee to further benefit from its scientific experience.
The executive directors of India’s Asia-Pacific Postal Union, Singh and Ahmadi discussed the development of Green Post, digital transformation and database services.
The Iran Post is developing a third-generation postal service and welcomes the union’s technical assistance to accelerate the transformation process, he said.
Referring to the capabilities of Iranian innovative companies, officials said more than 140 startups are members of the post-Iranian company innovation centre. Ahmadi invited Singh to visit digital transformation projects in person in Iran and abroad.
“Trust distribution requires technical advice, especially in the use of electric vehicles, and we will appreciate the union’s educational support in this area,” Ahmadi pointed out.
For his turn, Shin announced that the APPU is ready. We provided consultants to the government.
“We are pleased with Iran’s progress and appreciate the role the country has played in leading the coalition’s executive council in recent years,” he said, saying APPU is ready to support Iran in expanding its postal services by holding annual education courses and promoting Iran’s participation in these courses.
Officials have invited the country to attend the Appu Postal Business Forum, which is scheduled to be held in December.
