At a meeting to review the status of exports of technology and engineering services to Iraq, Yahya Al-e-Eshag, Chairman of the Iran-Iraqi Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the country had exported $4 billion worth of technology and engineering services to Iraq in the past few years.
Iraq’s prime minister recently announced that his country needs foreign investment worth around $100 billion annually, adding that 88 large-scale projects are on the horizon in the technology and infrastructure services sector, a figure that demonstrates the importance of the technology and engineering services sector in the country.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Al-e-Eshag pointed to foreign direct investment, noting that parliament has approved approximately $450 billion worth of domestic and foreign investments, mainly in oil, gas and other engineering sectors.
The Chairman stressed that effective measures are being taken to export advanced technology and engineering services to neighboring Iraq.
