According to Mehr News Agency, following the tragic death of many Indian Umrah pilgrims from the city of Hyderabad in a bus accident near the city of Medina, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, the Indian people and the government.
A senior Iranian diplomat prayed for God’s mercy and forgiveness for the deceased, and prayed for the early recovery of those injured in the accident.
At least 45 Indian Umrah pilgrims were killed and one injured when a bus collided with a fuel tanker near Medina, Saudi Arabia, on Monday.
The devastating incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. (Indian time) in the Mukhlehat district, about 160 kilometers from Medina, the Hindustan Times reported. The victims are reportedly Indian nationals, some of whom are believed to be residents of the Indian state of Hyderabad.
