TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared on Sunday that there is “no possibility” of negotiations with the United States at this time, citing the lack of a constructive or positive approach from Washington.
According to Mehr’s report, Araghchi said that talks were not viable at this stage because Iran “does not see a positive or constructive attitude” from the US side.
He stressed that Iran is only willing to negotiate if discussions are based on “equality” and “mutual benefit.”
Araghchi added that Iran would consider dialogue if the United States demonstrated its readiness for a dialogue built on equal footing and aimed at a mutually beneficial agreement.
“If the American side is prepared to negotiate on the basis of equality and common interests, such negotiations may be possible and Iran will consider it,” he noted.
