Foreign Minister Abbas Arakich says that ongoing development in Turkey is an internal issue that is properly managed by the country’s authorities.
Arakcz spoke on a call with Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Monday night, according to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two diplomats held their talks as Turkey was grabbed by days of fear and protest over the imprisonment of Mayor Iklem Imamogul on corruption.
A top Iranian diplomat emphasized the principled position of the Islamic Republic, saying that the events taking place in Turkey are internal issues.
“Turkish authorities are guaranteed to properly manage these developments based on the interests of the Turkish state,” Arakich said.
The two ministers also discussed the development of West Asia, where tensions are once again inflamed in violation of ceasefire deals in both regions, a regime attack on Syria, and a US air attack on Yemen.
Arachchi condemned the Israeli regime’s attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, and urged immediate action by the international community, particularly the Islamic countries, to stop the “occupying regime’s crimes.”
He also condemned the US airstrikes on Yemen, highlighting the importance of cooperation by regional countries to prevent further attacks on Islamic countries and the worsening of regional unrest and instability.
The Turkish foreign minister raised “deep concerns” about the collapse of the Gaza ceasefire, referring to a meeting of the Arab and Islamic Ministers’ Committee that attended the Egyptian capital on Sunday.
Fidan said Islamic countries should step up their efforts to address the problems of Palestinians and the situations facing them.
He announced Turkey’s preparations to help find diplomatic solutions to regional and international issues.
At the beginning of their conversation, Fidan celebrated Arakich the Persian New Year, best known as Knowles.
