Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Araguchi said he is still reviewing whether Tehran will take part in his next nuclear talk.
A top Iranian diplomat said Tehran is already responding to unreasonable demands and that “unusual statements” by the US would not aid the negotiation process.
He repeated that Iranian uranium enrichment continued with or without trade.
“If other parties want transparency about our peaceful nuclear program, we are ready,” he said. “But in return, they must lift sanctions that have been unfairly imposed on the basis of false claims about our nuclear activities.”
Araghchi warned that such conditions would not be accepted if the request attempted to deprive Iran of a legitimate right beyond this.
“We are assessing whether we will attend the next consultation,” he concluded, emphasizing that Iran will not succumb to excessive demands.
