The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement during Sacred Defence Week, highlighting the lessons of the Iran-Iraq war and the recent 12 days of Israel’s war on the country, confirming the strategic initiative and the country’s ability to maintain its threat.
The statement noted that the Iranian military, inspired by past experience and the leadership of the Islamic Revolution, achieved high levels of self-sufficiency, battlefield initiative and operational preparation, inspired by the leadership of the Islamic Revolution of Ali Khamenei.
Sacred Defense Week celebrates popular resistance and commemorates one of the most glorious chapters of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, adding that the state successfully thwarted a comprehensive global attack on territorial integrity, sovereignty and establishment of Islam.
The IRGC emphasized that effective deterrence stems from constant preparation, innovation in strategy and tactics, and the continued development of advanced defense systems. “In the event of miscalculation or aggression, the Islamic Republic of Iran will maintain its battlefield initiative and bring about another decisive and beneficial response,” the statement read.
He also noted that even under severe economic sanctions and multi-layered pressures, Iranian military forces rely on Indigenous knowledge and capabilities to remain self-sufficient and counter advanced military forces, ensuring national security and enemy targets.
The statement further warned that hostile actions, particularly by the US or Israeli regimes, against the integrity of Iran’s national interests or territorial integrity, would be met with a “decisive, crushed, timely response” from the military. He emphasized that he is fully prepared, including his presence to protect the nation, including land, air, sea, missiles, cyber and intelligence capabilities.
The IRGC concluded with honoring the sacred defence martyrs, veterans and combatants, reaffirming the Iranian military’s commitment to protecting national security and sovereignty.
