Speaking to the weekly presser on Monday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said, “Iran is a member of the NPT and is committed to the protection agreement. The issue of withdrawal from the NPT has been raised only at a limited level, and so far no decisive decision has been made in this regard.”
Regarding the international community’s silence on the Zionist regime’s nuclear program and its nuclear warhead, the spokesperson said, “This is the true fact. This administration is the only obstacle to the realization of a Western Asia region without weapons of mass destruction, and it is the only government not a member of our region’s non-enhancement treaty. For global peace and security.”
Iran’s parliament is considering major changes in nuclear policy by discussing bills that could lead to the country’s withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). This legislative move comes after illegal and hostile attacks by the US and Israel over Iran’s nuclear facilities. The proposed bill aims to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), halt testing and consider Iran’s commitment under the NPT.
