Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stressed in Baghdad that Hezbollah and other Lebanon resistance movements have high political maturity and can determine their national interests without the need for guardians.
Larijani also addresses the recently signed security agreement between Iran and Iraq, explaining that its central purpose is to ensure that individuals or countries cannot undermine the security of either country, thereby enhancing bilateral stability. He described it as a broader model of regional security cooperation with the goal of empowering all countries in the region. “We believe this memorandum is a model of security cooperation that can be extended to other countries. Our idea is that every country in this region is safe and powerful.”
Emphasizing Iraq’s resilience, Larijani said that the people are brave and do not need direction from others.
Larijani’s visit to Baghdad included meetings with the Iraqi Prime Minister, president, parliamentary speaker, national security adviser and leaders of several political parties.
