According to MP Ebrahim Rezaei, Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee held a meeting with Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI), on Tuesday to review the country’s latest nuclear achievements and related developments.
Eslami reported on the damage inflicted on nuclear facilities during the recent 12 days when Israel imposed the war and outlined the measures taken to intensify them. He also announced the results of his recent visit to Russia.
Rezai quoted Eslami as saying that the production of radiopharmaceuticals in Iran has not stopped and will not stop. He added that between 2022 and 2024, about 500 scientific and technological achievements have been made, many of which have a direct impact on people’s lives and the national economy.
Regarding the trip to Russia, Eslami said that Iran and Russia have protocols for the construction of eight nuclear power plants. One is operational and two are under construction, with a capacity of 5,000 MW in Hormozgan province.
Eslami also criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for failing to adequately protect Iran’s sensitive information despite repeated warnings. He stressed that political negotiations remain under the authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, guided by the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
Rezaei also added that the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Parliament is preparing a plan to respond to the activation of the European Troika of the snapback mechanism.
