“We condemn military attacks on Iran’s Islamic Republic after June 13, 2025 (23 Khordad 1404) in a statement issued by BRICS members at the 17th Summit held in Rio, Brazil on Sunday.
In a Saturday’s X account post, the top Iranian diplomat wrote: “Iran is grateful for the strong and clear condemnation by BRICS of recent Israeli and US military attacks. “A representative of Rio, which accounts for 40% of the world’s GDP and brings together almost half of the world’s population, the structural economic and political changes our planet is witnessing are more evident than ever. Iran is welcoming and pleased to be part of the dawn of a new era.

Araghchi arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday and attended the BRICS summit. There, key leaders in emerging economies gather to discuss world trade, financial reform and geopolitical cooperation.
In a meeting with Brazilian foreign minister earlier on Monday, Araguc denounced the Israeli US attack on Iran for a blatant violation of international law and a direct attack on diplomacy.
Araguchi thanked Brazil for hosting the summit, highlighting the important role of BRICS in promoting multilateralism and supporting the rule of international law. He also highlighted the importance of continuing Iran-Brazil’s cooperation, both bilateral and within international organizations.
