President Tehran – Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that Iran is open to negotiations but will not succumb to “bullies,” but reiterated that in Western Asia the country is seeking peace and tranquility.
In a meeting with Tehran’s government directors, Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s willingness to negotiate, but emphasized that the country would not succumb to its bullying powers or hold consultations under pressure.
“We should not be afraid of sanctions,” Pezeschkian said Thursday, referring to President Donald Trump’s National Security President’s Memorandum 2, which aims to bring Iran’s gross exports to zero. “Some people argue that there is no alternative but to negotiate with them (US).
Elsewhere in his remarks, he criticized those bombing civilians while claiming to defend human rights, and argued that Iran must retain its defensive capabilities. “They say they don’t own missiles or ammunition, so they can bomb them whenever they want, and they can’t protect themselves,” he said.
He also emphasized that Iran is seeking peace and tranquility with other Muslim countries and has not created tensions in the region, causing tensions in Israel’s actions supported by the US. “Iran is not creating tensions in this region. Israel is directly accountable,” the president said.
