In a telephone conversation with top representatives of EU foreign and security policies, Kaja Karas notified her on Monday about the latest developments in indirect consultations between Iran and the US.
According to Press TV, Araghchi said Iran is ready to continue interaction with European political parties within the framework of the European Union and the three European countries.
He expressed his hope that Iran and E3 will resume consultations based on a constructive approach that is not politically relevant.
Top Iranian negotiators said they chose a responsible approach that traces the path of diplomatic relations to address the artificial concerns surrounding this peaceful nuclear program and highlights the need to pursue the path through serious will and realism.
“This concern can be alleviated,” Araguchi said if it is argued that the possibility of Iran gaining nuclear weapons is the only concern on the part of the negotiations.
“It’s quite possible to reach an agreement on this point, but we need to avoid unrealistic and irrational positions,” he said.
In a post on Monday’s X Account, Araghchi said the only way to achieve a deal with the US is through diplomacy based on mutual respect and mutual interest.
Three consultations were held in the Italian capital of Oman, Iran and the United States, with the aim of reaching deals on Iran’s nuclear program and the elimination of sanctions in Tehran.
The parties have so far expressed satisfaction with the way negotiations are underway and praised the consultation as “positive” and “moving forward.”
The fourth round of the speech was scheduled to take place in Rome on May 3, but was postponed due to “logistical and technical reasons” cited by the Iranian Foreign Minister.
For her, Karas emphasized the EU’s support for diplomacy on the nuclear issue.
She expressed Europe’s preparations to engage in political negotiations with Iran, and hoped that both sides would make the necessary arrangements in this regard.
