President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran is ready to share all its achievements with African countries in the fields of healthcare, trade, industry, agriculture, security and peace.
The Iranian president spoke at the third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Council held in Tehran on Sunday.
The conference will also be attended by Mohammad Reza’s First Vice President and Minister of Industry, Mohammad Atabak of Mining and Trade, bringing together more than 50 African representatives, including the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and aims to strengthen economic ties between Iran and Africa.
Four special panels will be held at the Minister’s level, focusing on petrochemicals, mining and metals industries, agriculture and food industries, and health and pharmaceuticals.
The third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Council will be held in Tehran from April 27 to 29, with the event scheduled to continue in Isfahan from April 30 to May 1. The African representative will win over 100 years of manager from April 28th to May 28th.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, the AREF said Iran is consistently involved with African countries based on principles of justice, dignity and shared historical relations. He said Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, leader of the Islamic Revolution, stressed the need to strengthen relations with African countries and that the Pezeshkian regime was trying to expand relations with African countries.
Iran has abundant resources in oil, gas and minerals, along with the necessary expertise and technology, he said, adding that the Islamic Republic aims to use these capabilities for joint and fraternal partnerships rather than dominating them.
Separately, Atabak says there is a great opportunity to cooperate between Iran and Africa, calling for a 10-fold increase in trade exchanges with African countries.
The minister also said that current levels in Iran and Africa account for only 3% of the Islamic Republic’s exports and 1% of its imports. That’s about $800 million.
