In a recent telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fatta el-Sisi, Pezeshkian said Iran supported efforts to establish a region free of nuclear and weapons of mass destruction.
He sought constructive interactions between local players to organize security arrangements and stabilize peace.
The president argued that the establishment of nuclear-free regions must include the Israeli regime, citing its track record as a reason for distrust.
He praised Elsi for consultations with other leaders of Islamic and neighboring countries aimed at promoting peace and security in the region.
Pezeshkian noted that the Islamic Republic felt forced to carry out missile strikes against major U.S. Air Force Bases in Qatar in response to Washington’s direct involvement in the Iranian regime’s military attacks on Iran.
The president mentioned a telephone conversation Tuesday. He expressed his sympathy for the Chief of Qatar and for the people of both Emil and Qatar.
He emphasized that Iran considers every country in the region as brothers and friends, and believes that development, progress and stability depends on constructive interactions and friendly cooperation among all countries.
However, he warned that the Israeli regime was trying to create discord and conflict among Islamic countries and oppose the deepening of their relations.
Pezeschkian also discussed continued efforts to remove obstacles to establishing relationships between Tehran and Cairo, highlighting the shared will and constructive understanding of the officials of both countries.
President Elssi expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of a ceasefire and hoped it would be retained.
He highly praised the goodwill and support in removing tensions in Iran, and emphasized the need to advance political solutions and strategies that address all aspects of regional security.
Elssi welcomed Tehran’s willingness to continue the negotiation process and announced Cairo’s preparations to promote constructive negotiations between Iran and the United States.
He also expressed his hope that official relationship between Cairo and Tehran would soon be established.
