Tehran – After decades of tensions over Nagorno-Karabakh, a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan appears to be imminent. Iran, a neighbor with friendly ties with both countries, has offered to promote the signing of the final treaty.
Deputy Minister Majid Takt e Ravanchi emphasized Iran’s commitment to his good neighbors and his willingness to help Yerevan and Baku reach the deal.
Takht-e-Ravanchi highlighted the importance of the agreement on regional stability, urging both countries to focus on the future, saying the document is ready to be signed soon. He condemned violations of territorial integrity and emphasized that military force should not be used to occupy the territory of other countries.
He called for mutual respect and regional cooperation based on international law to ensure a peaceful future. The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has previously announced a finalized draft peace agreement, ready to discuss the signatures for details, and is ready to show further potential solutions to long-standing conflicts.
