Iran’s Vice-Speaker of Parliament Hamidreza Haji Babaei spoke at a meeting Thursday with the chairman of the Legislative Council Room of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismaimairaf, saying Iran is ready to increase the level of economic exchange with the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Iran’s vice-secretary speaker told his Uzbek counterparts from Mohammad Bagh Galibah of the Iranian parliament, noting that organizing the world in Uzbekistan is particularly important to Iran.
Referring to the historical relations between two friendly and brother countries, Iran and Uzbekistan, Haji Babaei added that Iran is an independent country with policies based on this.
Multilateralism, neighbour relationships and peaceful nuclear energy are one of the basic programs of the Islamic Republic, he said, adding that Iran has always sought regional and global peace.
Regarding Iran’s preparations for economic, technical and development cooperation with Uzbekistan, he said the Islamic Republic has high capabilities in the construction of refineries and power plants and implementing road, rail, energy and mining projects.
Therefore, Iran is ready to cooperate with Uzbekistan in implementing the aforementioned projects, Iranian lawmakers emphasized.
He emphasizes that the current trade exchange between Iran and Uzbekistan will reach around $500 million, and that the two countries are likely and capable of increasing the value of bilateral trade.
The Legislative Office Chair of Orii Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan thanked the Iranian parliament delegation in the country and emphasized that Uzbekistan will strengthen relations with Iran in all sectors, particularly in trade and economics.
