General Nasirzadeh spoke at a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday with a South African delegation led by General Luzzani Mahwana, head of the South African Defence Forces.
The Iranian minister praised the South African government for denouncement of Israel and supporting stance on the US aggression against Iran and for stealing the Israeli regime massacre in an international court.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, within its legitimate rights, gave this regime a critical and strong response, forcing the enemy to demand a ceasefire through mediators, and agreed to their demands to prevent the crisis from developing,” he said of the recent attack. “But we are closely monitoring our enemies’ movements and are prepared for new acts of adventurism.”
The South African side each said that the two countries have a lot in common in fighting global injustice and discrimination.
General Mahwanya further referred to the strategic and geopolitical position of Iran’s Islamic Republic in the Persian Gulf region and in the Western Asia, highlighting the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two independent countries.
At the end of the meeting, the South African defence forces head emphasized the benefits of geopolitical locations and membership in the BRICS organization, taking into account his travels as symbols that express the desire for solidarity and unity between the two countries.
