A senior Tehran official told RT that Iran is ready to take action unless Israel is punished and the US provides compensation for strikes at Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“If compensation is not paid for attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities and the Zionist regime is not punished, Iran is ready to take steps to restore historic deterrence to this regime,” an anonymous source said in an exclusive interview on Wednesday.
Officials responding to Washington’s demand to resume nuclear talks said Tehran had not agreed to a permanent ceasefire and had considered negotiations early.
He said that while Americans are pursuing the beginning of negotiations, Iran is in a state of temporary suspension of the conflict.
Officials warned that the Iranian forces remain fully prepared to respond to further attacks, saying, “Our hands are on the trigger, but in the case of miscalculations by the child murder regime, this time we will not wait for the enemy to fire the first shot.”
The United States should “contain its proxy forces in this region,” he emphasized.
The Zionist regime fought a war of aggression against Iran on June 13, attacking Iranian troops, nuclear power and residential areas for 12 days, but the US carried out a military attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, Natanz, Fordau and Isfahan on June 22.
Iranian troops carried out a powerful counterattack shortly after the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force implemented 22 waves of retaliation missiles against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III, which caused significant losses to cities across the occupying territories.
In response to the US attack, Iranian forces fired waves of missiles at Aldead Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
The battle was suspended due to a ceasefire that came into effect on June 24th.
