Iranian Minister of Science Hossein Shimai said in a joint press conference with Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naim Al Abdi, “Today, we will strengthen Iraq’s higher education system by fully implementing joint cooperation agreements in related fields.” We have reached an agreement with the education authorities.”
He emphasized that more than 170 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) for joint academic cooperation have been signed between Iran and Iraq so far.
He said the exchange of university students and lecturers and the promotion of knowledge in research and technical fields are the main themes of joint scientific cooperation being discussed between Iranian and Iraqi officials.
Shimay stressed that Iran is ready to cooperate with Iraqi universities in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), nanotechnology and quantum.
The Iraqi Minister of Higher Education pointed out that he met with the Iranian side at the entrance of the Iran-Iraq Science Week summit and pointed out that the two countries are seriously determined to expand the level of scientific and research cooperation. .
Naim Al Abdi said that Iran enjoys high scientific potential and there are wide possibilities for scientific cooperation with Iran in various fields.
He added that cooperation between academic centers of the two countries will enhance the scientific capabilities of the Islamic countries of Iran and Iraq.
