Tehran – Aerial sirens were activated in the occupying territories early Saturday, indicating a potential attack or security threat, according to local news sources.
The sirens rang shortly after Iran began a new round of retaliatory missiles in response to an early Israeli attack on Iranian territory and launched a drone strike against Israeli targets. The first and second waves of Iran’s strikes led to the deaths of at least one Israeli person and the injuries of more than 50 other people.
The Hebrew news outlet reports that Iranian missiles have attacked several locations throughout the occupied territory, including Tel Aviv, occupied Al-Kud, Haifa, Bier Sheva, the Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberia) and the Galilee region.
The ongoing Iranian operation follows a series of Israeli air raids targeting residential areas in Tehran, as well as strategic locations such as nuclear and military facilities across the country. The Iranian government has confirmed that dozens of civilians, military personnel and nuclear scientists have been killed in the attack.
As Iran launched a counterattack, the air defense system was activated through Tehran in the central and west, intercepting multiple micro-aviation vehicles (MAVs). Footage circulating online appears to show an air explosion above the capital as the defense system is involved in the threat of incoming calls.
