Speaking to the journalist on Wednesday, CBI Governor Mohammad Reza Farzin said, “Iranian traders and the central banks in Oman have challenges with the central banks we are investigating and solving.”
He said the agenda is to promote the issuance of bank guarantees for traders in Iran and Omani. Another issue discussed was the shipping line that reached a good agreement on this point. A transport line from Chabahar port to Oman has begun. This is an effective step to promote trade and reduce transportation costs. ”
“In the negotiations held, the parties reached an initial agreement to allocate certain spaces, such as ports, for Iran’s commercial activities,” Farzin added.
He said that one of the serious obstacles to the activities of Iranian businessmen in Oman is the issue of assurance, and announced that “a practical solution to this problem is planned to involve the participation of Iranian and Omani businessmen in the joint meeting.”
“We are investigating the possibility of establishing a bank and developing joint financial activities with the Omani side, Farzin added.
According to the CBI chief, “We will define a traveler’s credit card so that Iranian Oman can easily transfer money. We believe this will be created within the next two months.”
“Overall, we have come to an agreement that we should consider all financial and banking issues and promote both settlement and transfer businesses,” concluded Farzin.
