Sources say this rule will favor Emirati’s company Crescent Oil.
A source who spoke to a local Iranian media IRNA correspondent in London on Monday confirmed that Iran opposed the ruling on October 3, 2025.
The UK court will decide in the coming days whether to accept or reject Iran’s objections.
If the appeal is denied, the Iranian legal team could escalate the issue to the UK Supreme Court. However, sources noted that such procedures can usually be extended long and up to two years.
The Court of Appeals recently upheld a prior decision by the London Trial Court and approved the enforcement of an order seizing a building owned by the NIOC.
The dispute, known as the Crescent File, comes from a 2001 gas contract between the National Iranian oil company and Crescent Oil. Following the failure to implement the contract, the matter was referred to international arbitration and ultimately determined to be in favor of the Emirates.
