According to a press release from the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the foreign minister of Islamic Republic met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Senators Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Senators Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Foreign Minister Araguchi gave a heartfelt greeting from Iranian leaders, reaffirming Tehran’s desire to further deepen bilateral relations with Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar/Foreign Minister welcomed the Iranian delegation and highlighted the historical, cultural and religious ties that united the two neighbouring countries. He expressed his appreciation for the positive momentum in relations between Pakistan and Iran, highlighting the need to expand cooperation in key areas such as trade, energy, border security and regional ties.
The two senior officials exchanged opinions on major regional and international developments. Deputy Prime Minister Dar and the Foreign Minister shared Pakistan’s serious concern over general tensions in South Asia as a result of India’s provocative actions since the Pahargam incident. He firmly rejected unfounded attempts to involve Pakistan in the case and reiterated Islamabad’s appeal for an international, transparent and impartial investigation to establish the facts. He further stated that such allegations appear to be tactics to distract global attention from the Jammu and Kashmir conflict.
Emphasizing Pakistan’s consistent condemnation of terrorism in all forms, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister highlighted the country’s frontline role in the fight against terrorism and the important sacrifices it has made in this struggle.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace and stability in the region. Deputy Prime Minister Dal praised the visit of Iran’s Foreign Minister at this important time.
Both sides agreed to continue working closely to strengthen mutual understanding and to build a strong foundation for economic and strategic cooperation in the region.
