Tehran – Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts, Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri proposes a cultural exchange initiative between Iran and Tajikistan, an artist and social media who promotes tourism and cultural relations. He emphasized the roles of influencers and publishers.
The proposal took place on the second day of the 18th Tehran International Tourism and Related Industry Exhibition at a meeting with Jamshed Juma Honzoda, chairman of the Tajikistan Tourism Commission.
Salehi-Amiri highlights the deep cultural ties between the two countries, describing them as “one country with two governments,” reaffirming Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with Tajikistan. did.
“There are many reasons to work with Tajikistan,” Salehi Amiri said, highlighting the vast cultural and historical similarities between the two countries. He noted that efforts are underway to increase the number of Iranian tourists visiting Tajikistan from 8,000 to 100,000, with further growth potential.
The Iranian minister also pointed out the importance of improving infrastructure, including increasing flights between the two countries. He highlighted the use of social media to showcase the tourism potential of both countries and revealed plans to promote Tajikistan attractions in Iranian national media.
Among the important initiatives discussed were organizations of cultural and artistic events, such as Tehran’s “Cultural Week” and “Dushanbe Cultural Night.” Furthermore, both sides agreed to hold an exhibition of mutual handicrafts to strengthen the bonds between Iran and Tajikistan artists.
Juma-Khonzoda responded, expressing his enthusiasm for Salehi-Amiri’s proposal, acknowledging that cultural cooperation could significantly enhance tourism between the two countries. He said a visit to the Tehran exhibition will allow them to explore Iran’s tourism potential, engage with the private sector, pave the way for deeper collaboration.
Additionally, Salehi-Amiri and Juma-Khonzoda have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize their commitment to advance tourism cooperation. The agreement aims to enhance economic and cultural ties and promote mutual tourism development while highlighting the rich natural and historical heritage of both countries.
