TEHRAN – Speaking at the World Summit on Women in China, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Zahra Behruz Azhar proposed Iran’s proposal to conclude a Compassionate Agreement among women around the world to strengthen the role of women in creating a more humane and sustainable future.
According to IRNA, the agreement aims to keep kindness alive in politics, economics and science. It would be a charter based on certain principles, such as upholding the sanctity of human life, providing additional support to children and women in times of crisis, promoting dialogue rather than violence, exclusion and sanctions, protecting the rights of everything on earth, from plants and animals to water and soil, and using science and technology for the benefit of humanity rather than starting wars, imposing sanctions or oppressing humanity.
The official continued: “We live in an era where science and technology are transforming the world, where artificial intelligence is influencing decision-making and robots are replacing humans.
The planet is getting hotter, the gap between rich and poor is widening, and loneliness is widespread. Technology has made us more connected, but not necessarily closer.
Today we have more information, but less peace. In recent years, we have witnessed the dark side of technology: hybrid warfare, public opinion manipulation, the spread of digital hatred, and the use of artificial intelligence for destruction. These experiences highlight the serious crises of our time. Despite outward progress, many struggle with an inner void. ”
