TEHRAN – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bakaei said on Monday that the decision to postpone indirect nuclear negotiations with the US has been agreed by three sides following the proposal from mediation party Oman.
“We’ve heard a lot of claims,” Bakaei added during weekly news conferences, “warm factions and anti-diplomats, both within and outside the United States, centered around the Zionist administration, have made extraordinary efforts in recent weeks to disrupt consultations.”
The Bakaei stressed that Tehran would prioritize the “official stance” of the US negotiation delegation, urging Washington to “demonstrate internal unity” and adopt a “rational, logical and realistic position.”
The spokesman reiterated Iran’s “unchanging position over the past 20 years” and highlighted his commitment to a peaceful nuclear program.
He affirmed Tehran’s preparation for a “reliability measure” to address the concerns raised by the other parties, dismissing the objection as “a unfounded pretext.” Baqaei concluded that “this stance cannot be negotiated.”
