Tehran – On a well-known diplomatic involvement aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, Japan’s senior vice minister Nishino Nishi met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut in Tehran on Tuesday morning.
The catfish, which is leading the Japanese delegation to consultation, described the discussion with Iranian officials as productive and constructive. He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing diplomatic dialogue and highlighted the deeply rooted and friendly relations that historically existed between the two countries. Emphasizing the value of sustainable diplomatic engagement, Japanese officials emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogue to further advance bilateral cooperation and exchange perspectives while slamming regional and global development.
Foreign Minister Araguchi welcomed the catfish on his side and praised the historic depth of Iran and Japan relations. He highlighted the close cultural and diplomatic ties shared by Iran and Japanese people. He noted that this long-standing goodwill should be used more effectively to expand cooperation across different sectors, with a focus on economic and trade partnerships in particular.
Araguchi also expressed preparations for Iran to deepen strategic dialogue with Japan on key regional and international issues, adding that strengthening coordination between the two countries could positively contribute to peace and stability in Asia and the wider international community.
The bilateral relations between the countries were further highlighted in 2019, when former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo visited Tehran for a historical visit.
The visit was the first visit by the Japanese Prime Minister in almost 40 years and was part of an effort to mediate the resolution of permanent issues in the West Asia region.
