According to Mehr News Agency, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said that Iran had received the message conveyed by the mediating country. She stressed that any mistake or hostile act by the enemy would face a response “more forceful and harsh than in the past.”
On June 13, while Washington and Tehran were in the process of nuclear negotiations, Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked invasion of Iran. The Israeli attack sparked a 12-day war that left at least 1,064 people dead in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians.
The United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities in a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic locations throughout the occupied territories, as well as Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military base in West Asia.
On June 24, Iran successfully thwarted the invasion through successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States.
On Sunday, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh warned that potential talks with the United States would not be neutral but rather “armed negotiations,” underscoring Iran’s readiness to counter Iranian mistrust and possible American deception.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mohajerani stressed that Iran will continue its efforts to expand relations with Russia, calling it a neighbor with which Russia intends to deepen cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. He further pointed out that Iran is working to strengthen ties with Russia and China, members of the BRICS group.
He said Iran aims to develop relations based on mutual respect with regional countries and the countries of the Persian Gulf.
Mr. Mohajerani also referred to the situation surrounding Lebanon, emphasizing that Lebanon needs to possess weapons, and said that any state coexisting with the Israeli regime “must be armed.”
