The data ensures that the satellite is intact and functioning properly.
ISA Head Hassan Salarieh said on Friday that the Nahid-3 is currently under construction.
The Nahid-2 communications satellite, developed by the Iranian Space Research Institute and the ISA, was launched into space from Russia’s Vostochny Cosmodrome on Friday into a Soyuz launch vehicle.
Nahid-2 is an upgraded version of Nahid-1. Iran has been actively involved in space technology development since 2005.
Several Iranian knowledge-based companies have helped build Nahid-2, a low-earth orbital (LEO) microsatellite designed to operate at altitudes of 500 kilometers.
The satellite weighs approximately 110 kilograms, representing a major advance in Iran’s plan to develop both the LEO communications satellite constellations and the future Geographical Annular Orbital (GEO) communications system.
With Nahid-2 currently on track, Iran’s indigenous Ku-band communications technology will be undergoing operational testing in the space for the first time.
