In a statement released Monday, the ministry emphasized that Yemen’s actions are independent and rooted in solidarity with the Palestinians. It was intended to describe the accusations as “misleading and deceptive” and to shift attention from Israel’s ongoing war crimes in Gaza.
“In fact, it was the US military that took part in the war with the Yemeni people to support the genocide committed by the Zionist regime, committed war crimes by targeting civilian infrastructure in various Yemeni cities,” the statement read.
The ministry emphasized that Yemen’s support for Palestinians was “an independent decision rooted in Islamic solidarity with Palestinian brothers and sisters, rooted in Islamic solidarity,” and linking it to Iran is a “deceived claim” designed to hide Israel’s patriotism and justify further regional destabilization.
The statement reaffirmed Iran’s principled position on respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty of all countries, and condemned the US military attack on Yemen as “a blatant violation of the UN Charter and the fundamental rules of international law.”
The Foreign Ministry also warned of the “dangerous consequences” of the US ongoing strike on the security of Western Asia and the Red Sea region, reiterating Iran’s position that the root cause of regional instability is continued war and mass murder on occupied Palestinian territory.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the recent threats put in place by the US and the Zionist regimes to our hometown,” the statement concluded, adding that Iran holds both Washington and Tel Aviv, which are responsible for the outcome of the attack on Iran.
