Baghaei responded to the IRNA asking about US President Donald Trump’s recent claims regarding Iran’s involvement in the Gaza ceasefire talks.
Alongside British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer following Monday’s meeting, Trump claimed Iran “inserted itself” into Qatar’s latest ceasefire talks.
“I think they were involved in this negotiation, told Hamas and gave Hamas a signal and an order. That’s not good,” he insisted.
In response, Baghhai said, “Iran, in line with the majority of countries, strongly condemns Gaza’s genocide and supports a process that can stop abuse and alleviate the suffering of Gaza’s oppressed people.”
He emphasized that Hamas negotiators can “identify and pursue the greatest interests of the oppressed people of Gaza, making it unnecessary for third-party interference.”
He adamantly dismissed allegations of Iranian interference in the negotiations as “completely unfounded” and argued that such claims were a deliberate attempt to “ambiguate the US accomplices in Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.”
Baghaei highlighted several Israeli atrocities, including the murder of 60,000 innocent people, including women and children, the strengthening of the siege of the Gaza Strip in recent months, preventing them from entering the strip of humanitarian aid, and the prevention of humanitarian aid, which has established the distribution centers of so-called aid distribution, established by American businesses.
Iranian diplomats have urged US officials to work towards a permanent ceasefire in Gaza by stopping the shipment of arms to Israel, squeezing it to end genocide, and allowing humanitarian assistance to be distributed through established international channels.
Gaza is currently facing the most serious humanitarian crisis it has ever encountered, marked by catastrophic hunger that coincides with the Israeli regime’s war of massacre.
As of March 2, 2025, all border crossings to the strip were sealed by Israel, and the administration has prevented food and medical assistance invasion, resulting in massive hunger across the coastal region.
According to the latest figures, 134 Palestinians, including 88 children, have died of hunger and malnutrition since the outbreak of the Gaza War in October 2023.
At least 59,921 Palestinians were also killed, mostly women and children, as well as 145,233 more injured.
