Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi and his Greek counterpart, Old Gyorgos, held a telephone conversation Tuesday afternoon to discuss the latest regional development after the suspension of the Zionist regime’s military attacks on Iran.
Iran’s foreign minister touched on the strong violation of the UN Charter and international law by the Zionist regime and the United States, which violated Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty. Aragut stressed the need for all states to condemn Israel and the US military aggression against Iran. He warned that indifference to such blatant violations by Israel and the United States, including resolution 2231 of the non-enhancing administration and the Security Council, would involve irreparable consequences for international peace and security.
Araguchi recalls the Zionist regime’s military attacks that were coordinated and conspired with the United States during the midst of Iran-US negotiations, and described it as a serious blow to the essence of diplomacy. He further emphasized that the continued immunity of the Zionist regime over the heinous crimes committed in the region, particularly those related to Gaza’s genocide, is a major factor in growing unrest in West Asia.
He emphasized that the resolute military operations carried out by Iranian forces were the exercise of the inherent rights of self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, and that they have responded to military attacks by the Zionist regime and the United States on the integrity of Iran’s territorial and national sovereignty, and military attacks on Iran’s peace nuclear industry. Araguchi confirmed that Iran’s Islamic Republic remains fully prepared to counter new acts of aggression.
The Greek Foreign Minister has exaggerated the sadness of many Iranian citizens towards Martism and expressed deep regret over the Palestinians, particularly the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. He expressed his hope that the current ceasefire will be retained and negotiations will proceed.
The two foreign ministers agreed to maintain regular communication and ongoing consultations.
