“India and Pakistan are neighbours of Iranian brothers and enjoy relationships rooted in centuries of cultural and civilized connections. Like our other neighbours, we consider them our number one priority,” Araguchi writes in X.
He added that Tehran is ready to use good offices in Islamabad and New Delhi to build a deeper understanding of this difficult time, in line with the spirit taught by the Persian poet Sadi.
“Humans are all members of the whole world.
In the creation of one essence and soul
If pain is inflicted on one member
The other members are worried.”
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated sharply after Tuesday killed 26 tourists in an attack in India-controlled Kashmir.
The Indian government has said the attacks have a “cross-border” link with Pakistan, Islamabad has strongly denied.
On Thursday night, Indian and Pakistani forces exchanged fires along the Control of the Conflict Area (LOC) in Kashmir, marking a dangerous aggravation between two neighbors after the fatal shooting in Pahargam.
The United Nations urged both sides to exercise restraint.
Meanwhile, Islamabad accused New Delhi of not providing sufficient evidence to link Pakistan’s government to the attack. He also warned that India’s attempt to suspend a groundbreaking water-sharing treaty between the two countries would be filled with “full power.”
Both sides suggest that ongoing tensions could escalate into military conflicts.
