In a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council’s President Christina Marx Lassen, Irabani said these unfounded accusations were nothing more than a calculated attempt to distract the international community from the unfolding Israeli massacre, war crimes and massive sterilization against Palestinians in Gaza.
He emphasized that the United Nations’ US mission seizes every opportunity on the Security Council, manipulates the platform, advances Washington’s political agenda, and misdepicting Iran as a threat to international peace and security.
The full text of Irabani’s letter to the United Nations is as follows:
Your Honor,
I assert the levelled, unfounded accusations against Iran’s Islamic Republic by US representatives and Israel’s occupation terrorist regime during today’s Security Council open briefing on March 21, 2025. These charges are completely unfounded and unreliable. It is also merely a calculated attempt to divert the international community from Israeli wars of genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, war crimes and massive atrocities. They also aim to obscure the undeniable US accomplices in these crimes and its immobilising support for Israel’s destabilisation and malignant activity throughout the region. We also reject identical, unfounded claims made under the same agenda items at the Security Council’s public briefing (9881st Meeting) held on March 18, 2025.
The US’s direct role in enabling Israeli atrocities cannot be rebutted and is well documented. The US’s unwavering political, military and financial support encouraged Israel to commit terrible crimes with absolute immunity. Therefore, the unfounded allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran are therefore nothing more than a hopeless attempt to reject the Security Council’s responsibility, distract from the truth, protect Israel from accountability, and perpetuate immunity for its crimes. Furthermore, these unfounded accusations once again highlight the US administration’s hostile policies against Iran’s Islamic Republic, asserting that the US delegation to the United Nations, acting on directions from Washington, ignores the reality of the earth and continues to make false accusations against Iran’s Islamic Republicans. They seize every opportunity of the Security Council to operate the platform, moving forward on Washington’s political agenda, and misdepicting Iran as a threat to international peace and security.
In response to the unfounded claims from US representatives regarding Iran’s nuclear program during the meeting, I must emphasize that Iran’s nuclear activities are completely peaceful and fully complying with its obligations under the non-enhancing treaty. In contrast, the United States is the only country that has ever used nuclear weapons, and the only country that has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. Furthermore, Washington’s double standards and hypocrisy are evident in its continued silence against Israel’s undeclared nuclear weapons and its failure to address Israel’s repeated threats to use weapons of mass destruction against the Palestinians in Gaza.
If you distribute your current letters as Security Council documents, I should be grateful.
My best considerations, please accept His Excellency.
