Speaking at the signing ceremony for the book “The Power of Negotiation” held in Lebanon on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi said the US proposal, which was recently handed over to Tehran by the Omani Foreign Minister, “contains a lot of ambiguity and questions.”
He has made it clear that Iran will respond to recent proposals from Washington in the next few days of nuclear talks.
“Continuing Iranian soil is our red line. This is a reality that all countries have embraced. Now enrichment has become a matter of people’s pride and honor for Iranians,” said the top Iranian negotiator.
The US and Iran have been holding five rounds of nuclear talks starting April 12th, and are expected to meet again for negotiations aimed at reaching a new agreement. The two countries are at odds at the level of uranium enrichment.
The American website Axios reports that Washington recognizes its right to enrich Iran’s soil at low levels for a determined period, despite public statements by senior American officials.
