The first flight departed from Tehran at 10:30 a.m., marking the official resumption of air links between Iran and Sharjah.
Khormatollah Rafiei, head of the Iranian Association of Travel Agents, told reporters on the sidelines of the resumption of flights that flights would resume after a conflict that had a serious impact on public sentiment and the country’s economic situation.
He noted that one Iranian airline is taking the lead in restarting this major route.
Rafiei added that Sharjah is one of the most sought-after regional destinations for Iranian travelers. As of today, flights have resumed from Tehran, Lar, Bandar Abbas, Qeshm and Ahvaz.
He announced that the airline will operate 14 weekly flights to Sharjah, which he said is a promising sign of recovery in Iran’s tourism and aviation sectors.
