TEHRAN – Iran and Tunisia have agreed to a revival of economic and tourism cooperation and are preparing to reorganize the Joint Economic Committee after years of suspension, sources reported after Foreign Minister Abbas Aragucci visited Tunis.
According to Iranian ambassador for Tunisia, Araguchi shouted on Wednesday by Tunisian President Kais, covering regional developments, including the conflict in Gaza.
“Both countries have a political will to develop and deepen bilateral relations. My visit to Tunisia is being made within this framework,” Araguc told reporters at the Iranian Embassy.
Hosseinian said the ongoing debate over the launch of direct flights between The Tehran and Tunis, and both sides agreed to expand tourism cooperation. Charter flights have been running twice a week since July.
Araguchi also met with Tunisian Foreign Minister Muhammed Ali Nafti, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, the Hosseinians said.
