TEHRAN – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeli Bakaei said on Wednesday that Iran is not in a hurry to resume relations with Syria, stressing that the recovery of ties depends on conditions that truly serve the interests of the Syrian state.
He made remarks at weekly press conferences, reaffirming Tehran’s longstanding support for Syrian people facing Israeli attacks and clarifying Iran’s position on bilateral relations. He emphasized that cutting ties between two Muslim nations with a history of deep friendship is never permanent, and said Iran continues to see itself as a friend of the Syrian people.
“Whenever friendship with Iran is deemed to be in the interest of the Syrian people, we are ready for mutual action,” added Fukaei.
He also welcomed closer dialogue with his neighbors, highlighting Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi’s recent meeting with Iraqi Huad Hussein in Doha. “Our support for Syria remains unshakable,” Bakaei said, denounced Israel’s continued attacks on Syrian territory for violations of international law and regional peace.
“All the critical features of genocide have been realized in Gaza.”
Turning to Gaza, Fukaei said it cannot begin local discussions without addressing “the most urgent issue in the world.” He described the devastation of Gaza as “beyond words,” claiming violence meets the definition of genocide.
Citing the latest findings from the Independent Committee of the UN Human Rights Council, Fukaei said: “According to the committee, all the critical features of genocide have been realized in Gaza over the past two years. This is an unmistakable case.”
He argued that the ground invasion coincided with the US Secretary of State’s visit to the occupied territory, evidence of Washington’s direct accomplice. “These crimes are committed under his surveillance. Global public opinion clearly considers that the United States is not only silent, but also an accomplice,” he said.
“Establishing relationships with a terrorist regime is a crime.”
The spokesman also repeatedly refused Tehran to normalize with Israel. In response to questions about the leader’s recent call to cut ties with the administration, Fukaei stressed:
He welcomed the boycott of economic and trade already adopted by several governments, pointing to the grassroots movement in Europe and pressed for stronger measures. “These campaigns reflect the conscience of the world,” Bakaei said. “We hope that the region and Islamic countries will join them and oppose killings and warming with concrete actions.”
The idiots also supported calls to ban Israeli athletes from international competitions. He noted that nearly 800 Palestinian athletes, including children, have been killed in the past two years. “It is unacceptable that the world will turn a blind eye to this massacre while allowing representatives of invaders to compete freely,” he said.
“US measures undermine our obligations as hosting UN headquarters.”
The idiots also criticised Washington’s restrictions on Iranian representatives attending the UN General Assembly, calling them “unprecedented” and violated America’s obligations as hosts at the UN headquarters.
“Such measures undermine the reliability of the US,” he said, adding that while some visas are being issued, Tehran is waiting for further updates from missions in New York and Geneva.
“Mahdieh Esfandiari’s case is a hostage.”
Regarding the detention of France’s Madie Esfandiari, Fukaei described the case as “political hostages” rather than a normal legal issue. He said Esfandiari’s social media post was surrounded by “inciting terrorism” on the other side, and was in fact an expression of solidarity with the Palestinians.
“The Ministry has been tirelessly working to provide consul support for the past seven to eight months,” Bakaei said. “Her lawsuit cannot be compared to legal proceedings involving two French citizens in Iran.”
“Iran’s defensive capabilities are unnegotiable.”
In Iran’s nuclear program, the idiots dismissed US and European claims as politically motivated, emphasizing that the credible IAEA report does not support such allegations. “The Western approach is aimed at hampering Iran’s progress without ensuring security,” he said.
He confirmed that Tehran has reached a new understanding with the IAEA to improve the implementation of the safeguards mandate, which is welcomed by the agency’s directors despite opposition from European states.
On the missile, the idiot ray said Washington had no right to comment. “Iran’s defensive capabilities are non-negotiable and are not subject to our approval.”
While acknowledging that some local states are exploring ways to promote indirect communication between Tehran and Washington, Fukaray said no official mediator was designated.
He added that recognizing Palestine, which has no concrete measures to protect people, is “sympathetic at best, and in the worst case scenario it makes no sense.”
“Iran condemns terrorism under any circumstances, regardless of motive.”
The spokesman also condemned the assassination of American political figure Charlie Kirk, highlighting Iran’s principled opposition to terrorism “under any circumstances, regardless of motive.”
