TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi says the fact that Iran is not negotiating directly with the US is the fact that Washington acts like a bully.
“The reason for the indirect negotiation is the threat that is taking place. This action is essentially a response to American bullying. We would not negotiate under forced conditions, but we were prepared to negotiate from an equal footing,” Araguchi told National Television.
In a letter to the United States of Iran, in response to Trump’s letter, for the nuclear negotiations of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “We learned that we reached our destination and were reviewed by Oman’s friend.
On March 26, Iran officially submitted a letter to the United States through Oman. Oman plays the intermediary between Tehran and Washington.
The Trump administration’s approach to Iran is full of contradictions
Again on Sunday, Trump threatened Iran with bombing if the country had not reached an agreement with his administration about the nuclear program.
“If they don’t make a deal, there’s going to be a bombing,” Trump said in a call with NBC News.
Trump himself withdrew from a multilateral nuclear agreement with Iran in 2108 under his “maximum pressure” campaign on Iran.
The nuclear agreement was signed in July 2015 between five permanent members of Iran, the United Nations Security Council (UK, France, China, Russia and the US) and Germany and the European Union.
Under the agreement, Iran has placed restrictions on nuclear activities in exchange for the end of financial and economic sanctions.
The deal approved by UN Security Council resolution 2231 was working perfectly well.
