Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said at a press conference Monday morning that, according to the logic of the JCPOA, in exchange for lifting unfair sanctions by the US and European countries, Iran had taken a series of voluntary measures on rich levels of restrictions and other issues related to the use of different machines. “Therefore, accepting certain restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program in return for sanctions relief is nothing new,” he said.
“We have said that we are ready to take a series of measures once unfair sanctions are lifted to provide assurances about the peaceful nature of the nuclear program,” he emphasized.
He said three European countries are in contact with Iranians. Tehran has not ruled out the possibility of holding another consultation, but said there was no decision on the issue at this point.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Baguei mentioned the visit of the IAEA’s deputy director, saying that the goal of his visit is to develop a manual on how Iran and the IAEA interact after the Israeli-US attacks on Iran and the US nuclear facilities.
“There was no previous history of the country’s peaceful nuclear facilities being attacked and damaged, visiting IAEA inspectors. There were also security and safety concerns,” he further cited.
“The talks begin last week and there is likely another negotiation between Iran and the IAEA will take place in the next few days,” Baghaei announced.
The Zionist regime fought a war of aggression against Iran on June 13, attacking Iranian troops, nuclear power and residential areas for 12 days, but the US launched a military attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, Natanz, Fordau and Isfahan on June 22.
Iranian troops carried out a powerful counterattack shortly after the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force implemented 22 waves of retaliation missiles against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III, which caused significant losses to cities throughout the occupying territories.
In response to the US attack, Iranian forces fired waves of missiles at Aldead Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
The battle was suspended due to a ceasefire that came into effect on June 24th.
