Esmaeil Baghaei told reporters on Thursday that the indirect Iranian AU fourth round, scheduled to be held in Rome on Saturday, May 3, has been postponed at the proposal of Omani Foreign Minister.
Baghaei added that the new date will be announced later.
Meanwhile, Laurence Norman, who wrote intimately in X’s post, wrote in X’s post, “It is said that #irantalks has moved to May 7th.”
Norman added, “This is likely/probably. Americans apparently wanted more time.”
Today, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, who mediated the round prior to the talks, confirmed that Axios’ report had been postponed and said in a post on his X account that “U.S. Iran Conference is rescheduling a tentatively planned US meeting on Saturday, May 3.
Earlier, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid had insisted that indirect talks between Iran and the US scheduled for Saturday and Friday’s meeting with Iran and E3 would be postponed to next week.
