Mr. Momeni made these remarks during a meeting with Burkina Faso’s Security Minister Mohammadou Sana in Tehran on Thursday, where Mr. Momeni pointed out that the reopening of the Iranian embassy in Burkina Faso and the establishment of a joint committee are important steps towards deepening cooperation.
He also expressed optimism that these efforts will foster exchanges between the two countries.
Mr. Momeni said the signing of the Police Cooperation Memorandum was an important step in strengthening relations and emphasized the importance of student exchanges to strengthen cooperation. He also cited agriculture and industry as priority areas for future cooperation.
In response, Sana expressed gratitude for Iran’s hospitality and acknowledged the inspiration for the Islamic revolution in Burkina Faso.
He noted that since the embassy reopened two years ago, exchanges between the two countries have expanded significantly.
Mr. Sana praised the two countries’ common positions in international organizations, especially Interpol, and reaffirmed the two countries’ mutual fight against imperialism and global arrogance.
